I remember a guy on here posted a few years ago that he was hit but a drunk driver in a dodge ram pick up head on at 50mph and live to tell the story. He had pictures posted and it was amazing out the passenger compartment stayed intact so well with a hit like that.

Drifting
I survived a trip backwards into the wall at VIR at roughly 70mph. The rear of the car is destroyed but I can open both doors like nothing happened.
I guy I know had a head on collision several years ago in a 88 TS and walked away with minor injuries. The airbags were inop due to it seeing occasional track use. The impact was heavy and totaled the car. Both doors opened and closed like nothing happened.
These are solid cars. They take an impact very well. You have to figure that Porsche is expceting their customers to drive very fast and possiblely crash. They want them to live so they can buy another Porsche!!

yes they are safe cars, but remember they were designed in the early 70s. technology has improved significantly in the last 30 years.
bottom line, depends on what you compare it to,and then you open up a can of worms. a car may crumple and you will say look how it folded. yep, thats what it was designed to do to protect the occupants.
