Default S2 intake manifold on an S

I did a search that yielded no sucessful results. Has anyone sucessfully put an 944S2 intake manifold on an S? If so are there any performance gains, and what needs to be changed/moved? Are all the vaccum hookups the same, throttle cable, AFM, etc?

Also any n/a owners out there notice a difference with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? It's time to replace some fuel system components, and was wondering if an adjustable fpr is a good upgrade.

I don't think the S2 manifold is compatible with the S head. I don't imagine there would be a performance gain, anyway. If the 968 intake were compatible, that would give some hp. But the 968 intake won't work.

An adjustable FPR might add some responsiveness and smooth out the engine... I don't know. I've heard it helps things a bit with the 968.

I have noticed the S and S2 both share the same intake manifold gasket, which tells me that the S2 manifold is compatible with the S head. Has anyone done this? I thought I saw a post a while ago about this but couldn't find it. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I'm pretty sure the S2 intake will fit its just a matter of figuring out the throttle. The S2 has a linkage setup on it its not all cable like the S. It sure would be nice not to have to put that stupid plastic pipe on to the back of the intake though

You should be able to use the S2 throttle cable and linkage.

Yeah, the placement of the throttle body on the S is just stupid. That's why I'm wondering if the S2 manifold would provide any gains because porsche obviously changed it from the S for a reason. Well I guess I'm going to go ahead and make it my spring project along with my timing belts and some other stuff. I have an S2 intake with throttle body and tps, so when it gets above 50 degrees here ( it was 5 yesterday) I'll let you guys know how it goes.

The tradeoff for the better location of the throttle body will be an aircleaner under the nosepiece (unless you figure out a custom alternative).

yes, I will be making a custom cold air intake with the manifold conversion ( assuming this will work)
