Now that the car doesnt get driven on the street Im going to pull the radio out as well, but I will be removing the lower portion of the senter console where the ashtray etc. is.
You could run SP1, where only the cluster is required. Early dashes are pretty light, though.

Early dashes are real light . making min weight in a 944-spec is pretty easy so no need for hacking up an early dash in a early car. the late cars are little tougher to make 2600 # and the late dash is pretty heavy so makes sense to hack it up.

The car is being built as a 944 spec car but I want to keep it legal for SCCA IT which requires that I keep the whole dash. All my buddies race SCCA so Id like to have the option of racing with them from time to time.

For the front, the rustoleum will wear out in a few places. It also gets very slick when its wet so I also thought about truck liner for the footwells as well. Maybe using more than 1 or 2 coats will prevent that. Ill be repainting after I finish some interior work, luckily the painting isnt too hard of a task. I think if I do it again Im going to use rattle cans.

i think thats it for the interior paint -- for now !
i just finished doing the front driver and pass side with a bedliner - added some sand for a non-skid surface cause the liner itself was still a little smooth. make sure before adding the bedliner the surface is clean even from the smallest bit of enamel..ask me how i know
i added some more pics...thanks for the compliments and happy new year !

The center console is not the dash board. Remove the center console and put the gauges in the center speaker hole. You can still keep the header box/core and controls. Although you will need to "rig" up away to control things on the fly.

just put my kirkey driver seat back in and installing the 5 pt harness. the center console went back in as i am a little unsure how i want it to lay out. i was thinking of installing the side net in the center dash speaker location because its seems to be a perfect location -- shoulder / head height ..more pics to follow...
thanks for all the kind words - happy new yr !

I put mine to the corner of the battery tray. I had wanted to go the center speaker, but wehn I mocked up it created interferance with my ability to use the shifter. I decided to angle it out a bit and found the corner of the battery tray. Plust this surface allowed me to mount the end using a bolt in shear in an area with lots of metal thickness.

v-tach,

That's a great looking chassis floor. I'm inspired again to clean up the interior of my 944-Spec car during the off-season.
