Need some advice for a 944 turbo
Alright, here is my dilemma.
I am a college student. I own a 1986 944 turbo. I bought it back in 04' and drove it all summer before college. I did not take it to college since I did not want the wear and tear on the car. So it sat in our garage, on jack stands. Over that winter I rebuilt the altenator. When I test drove it I noticed a couple of things. First the water pump was leaking (assuming water pump is done), and the car stalled after ~15mins of driving when I let go of the gas to downshift and then had progressivly harder trouble running and then no longer would catch (assuming vaccum hose leak).
My dilemma now is either to fix the car up or sell/part it out. Being in college 3 hours away I am not sure I am ready or capable of taking on this project to fix or part (money is an issue at some point). The car is in great shape, the interior is still pitch black(some wear on the wheel and shifter). When I was driving the car it did have small leaks which included: Power steering, oil pan gasket, windshield wiper fluid. Other than that it ran like a champ. It also ran great after I got it running untill it stalled. Car is completly stock with wrapped exaust headers and has an LSD trans with oil cooler. Clock still worked last time I had a battery in the car, and all fluids have been drained from the car when it was sitting (including fuel from rail line).
What do you guys think I could get for the car at the moment. It is not running, but I am assuming a vaccum hose is the culprit. 3k maybe? I am just looking to see what it going to be worth my time and money. If I could get around 3k I would probably walk away now, but If not I will fix the car up and then sell it.
What do yall think? Any help is appreciated.

3K would be a reasonable asking price, however you could part it if you had the time to take it all apart. Pulling the whole car apart is a big undertaking, and as a fellow college student I would point out that you may not have the time to try it. The car is worth more in parts than as a whole. If you do part it - I am in the market for a turbo drivetrain (Complete engine/transmission), and Im sure many others are too so it shouldnt be too hard to sell it. Good luck!

3K seems very reasonable for a clean 951 with minor issues you stated. It should go quick at that price.
I say keep it or sell it. Parting it would be a major PITA and would take longer than fixing the minor issues you stated. There is no point in parting it, if you only want $3K or so.

By all means, fix it or sell it!
It really pains me to see a perfectly nice example parted out for want of some normal repairs for its age.
If I had a garage like you probably do and didn't have to do my repairs in a parking structure, I would definitely take on the project during the winter. Spend some time and a little money on it and, from your description of the car, come spring you'd have a great running 951 again.

No accidents, 150k, no dash board cracks, clock works, ac works, sunroof works, all other little things work in the car other than the hood and hatch shocks which usually do not hold.
Like I said before this was just a feeler post. I recieved several pm's almost imediately offering 3k as it sits. Im still thinking what I want to do with the car. Ill keep yall posted.

fix it and drive it more. you will regret not having it soon after you get rid of it. If it is truely as described, you'll spend more getting another one in 5 years when you decide that you miss it terribly.
