I have free tire repair on my tires too but it's a pain when I can just plug them at home in 15 minutes.
And as someone else already mentioned, these are Goodyear Eagle F1s. Tough tires but you should see the nails and bolts I've been pulling out of them!!!

The Meck and Union County areas are some of the worst..................
With a right to work state and no union contractors, the quality of most workmen is very questionable.
Just keep your eyes open around town..................you constantly see paint splattered in roads, junk that has fallen off work trucks, etc.......it's just the price of progress in our area, I guess.
Good luck in the future with your tire (lack of, I hope) damage.

I've been doing much better. Now I just stick to the highways and *only* have to avoid the bad drivers. Although I do see the ocassional mattress or bookshelf on the road those are little easier to avoid than roof nails!

I'd say it's just luck unless your driving through construction zones. I have yet to get a nail in my 951 but in the Range Rover I got a flat so I pulled the tire of to fix the nail puncture myself. While checking the other tires I found 9 nails total in my 4 tires. lol I used up the rest of my patch kit on those.

I've patched litteraly hundreds of tires with these. I use the kit with the rubber glue and patch cord. Pull out the nail, bore the hole, CLEAN THE HOLE, then slap on the glue and wedge the cord into the hole. One in paticular I did I know is still holding after seven years. Of all the patches I have done, none have leaked prior to the tires wearing out. They are fine and work just need to be done correctly.

The plug type tire repairs are safe or else America's tire company wouldn't be using them on zr rated tires provided the nails didn't get the sidewall. I think someone is messing with you as far as the nails go. You can buy tires from America's tire company with a lifetime road hazard warranty so if you run over a nail, they will keep replacing the tires absolutely free or repair it free if its not repairable. My brother had a warranty on his car and was 2000 miles away from home where there were no America's tire. They told him to buy a tire from any store and keep the receipt. They reimbursed him.
They will match anyone's advertised price. No I do not work for them. Yes I buy all my new tires through them.
