Default anyone in the bay area have a late dash lying around their garage?

like the title says. not looking to pay much for it since i'm not expecting much condition wise. color doesn't matter either, it's for a project.

don't need the gauges, glove box, etc. just the dash, also the center console minus climate controls, etc if you have one.

thanks

Let's go hit some local junkyards. My bro and I like to make day trips where we hit like 3-4 junkyards (like a bombing run). I see at least 1 944 each time, and sometimes it's a late one. If nothing else, you get to laugh at smashed nissans. Once I got the pleasant treat of seeing this:

I know the pick n pull at Newark has a pre 85.5. Engine is still there, but interior and suspension are gone.

Hey Arash, good idea, I love junkyards..

Joe, my budget for a dashboard, center console, etc is something like $25-75 so it's probably out of my price range. I was thinking of taking a late dash and finding some way to mount the old gauges in it (while changing out the convex gauge lenses for flat ones). It would hopefully end up looking something like a bastardized 911 dash.

Btw, the door on that 928 looks gooey..

nh7cy if you happen to change to late dashboard, I'd like to buy your early dashboard.

Get in touch with Deni. I helped him disassemble a car last year but I forgot if he kept the dash. He might have what you're looking for.

I too wanted flat gauge lenses when I had my 944. I gathered a full set of 924S gauges and I found a sheet of plexiglas I was going to cut circles out of. I sold the car before I got far... But it would be cool to see how it turns out on your car!

I think there were a couple 944's listed on craigslist as being parted. Though I doubt anybody from cl would sell a dash to you cheap.

If you guys do go on any junkyard runs, let me know. I'd love to come to find more random crap to take up space in my garage.

There is a dismantler yard near partsheaven and they have 2 late 85 944. I went there 2 weeks ago and I think the dashboard is still there. Brown interior though

The name of the junkyard is Dori's auto wrecker.
