haha, I like that first one in the list...
Q: Hi, Can you tell me when and why the speedometer was changed on this car? Thanks.
A: The Speedometer was never changed, the car has 9200 ORIGINAL MILES, This is TRUE MILEAGE, Thanks. Best regards, Michael
That car is a steal, but it will go way past where it is currently I think.

You can see in the pic of the engine bay that its in practically new condition. I have never seen a 944 restored to that condition. I've seen plenty of nice engine compartments, but not with the stickers and such still looking brand new.

Wow I didn't notice this one was an automatic. No wonder it only has 9200 miles.

Car relisted, I'm interested, Lebanon PA PPI recommendations?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29
OK so I am considering this car auction permitting. Lebanon PA, anyone know of a 944 specialist in this area who could perform a thorough PPI for me?
How much should I budget for the repairs (trans mount) he details? I would probably get the clear coat and small rust patch fixed as well. Belts probably need doing as well 20k on them.
With these repairs in mind, what is peoples best estimate on the value?
Thanks

If you pay a mechanic to do water pump and belts, it's going to be about $1200. Some documentation showing that the WP and belts actually had been changed would be worth a whole lot. Otherwise assumed they're still factory original and miracles have occurred for all of those miles.
I'm not sure I would dive into doing tranny mounts yet- I'm sure lots of other stuff will come up first.
That being said, I'd hit that. The miles do suck; at that point everything is starting to go.

224,000 on mine. Still strong and reliable (touch wood!) -Regular, GOOD fresh oil (swepco every 3,000 miles WITHOUT FAIL since new in my case) has a lot to do with life expectancy.

Is there anyone I could ask to look over this for me. I would pay
Anyone know of anybody who could do a PPI on the car in the Lebanon, PA area? I don't want a mobile inspector to look at it as they probably dont have the necessary knowledge of these specific cars. The nearest dealer was asking crazy money $200 + bucks. I'd go to $100
Thanks

Porsche labor is 93 bucks an hour.
If you aren't willing to spend 200 to save 5k, then you should really start looking for a different brand of car. 200 is nothing! based on this car's condition, it's going to cost you 5k by the time it is solid anyway.
A stock engine rebuild is 5k plus on these cars. a clutch is 1200 minimum. etc. etc. The list of what may very well be wrong with this car is close to 10k if you add in paint, door and hatch seals, and all of the tiny crap that just wears out.
This car isn't going to be the bargain that it appears. BANK ON IT!
