do wheel center caps have holes?

i am pretty sure they were factory caps. they were painted, and i think they had a clear plastic cover over them. there were three or four allens that were on the inside and pressed against the rim. i think the rim may have had a small groove cut in them for the allens to go up against. it was a 90 928 S4. i am sure a 928 guy would know the answer better than me.

the allen was not to pop the caps off, it was to prevent teh caps from being removed unless the wheel was off the car, and you unscrewed the allen head screws that went from the center of the wheel outward.

The allen key ring is on the back of the cap to hold them to the wheel securely. I think they are an aftermarket idea and not from the factory. They fit Cookie Cutters or Fuchs center caps only.



The tool to remove the center caps with holes (some has them, some didn't) can be made with a bent aluminum coathanger

Thanks! I made a similar tool to remove the radio from my F150 truck a few years ago....

i have 83 cookies and they have holes i used a scissor to ren\move them once to get them painted...i think u can use a paper clip to do THE special tool..
