Default Grounds

Ok, so I keep hearing "Clean Your Grounds!". Does anyone have a detailed diagram or something showing the location of them all?

you should try cleaning your grounds

I don't think one exists, but if you go on dcauto.com you can find parts diagrams that show a little bit of how the wiring harnesses are set up.

There is a diagram of all the ground locations. I have a copy of it. I got it from work, it should be in one of factory service manuals I believe.

If you lay upside down under the drivers side of the dash you'll find two that are easy to get to and a few that are more difficult. There is one under the rear carpet around the center/rear of the hatch. One for each head light just behind them and the main ground near the back of the engine.

Lay upside down....under the dash...easy...so what would be your definition of something that is hard to get to

+1 Keith, like to add that there are two grounds at the back of the engine, main and dme. These get gunked up bad, especially if the car has ever suffered a leak from the heater control valve. Also the wiper motor has one strapped to the case.

There are line drawings showing the locations of the grounds here on RL - if you can't find them, I can repost them.

A good pic of the "easy" grounds Keith mentioned:

There is also one behind each headlight, and also one in the rear cargo area, behind the DS taillight under the carpet.

Quit blaming us! It's not our fault.
