Default OT Engine theory

If you take a bore 4" and expand to 4.155 but reduce stroke from 3.5 to 3.25. After changing rods and head gasket my calculations bring me up from 8.5 to 11.2:1. Any idea what this would do to a 350 which trick flow heads?

I didn't know that Trick Flow made heads for Porsche 350s.

Both combinations are within 1 cid. You would lose maybe 1cc for the larger head gasket required with the big bore. There is no way this would cause the CR to jump almost 3 points.

The only thing that it would accomplish would be to allow the engine to rev higher due to the reduced stroke. Very common on chevy 426 destroked to a 400, which can be reved to around 8,000 rpm.

Thats kinda where I was going with this thought. The stock heads are 80cc IIRC but trick flow heads are 56cc. yeah you have to change the crank to change to stroke. the 305 is where I intend to source the crank.

I know I'm talking about a chevy engine on a porsche board but I think I trust the bulk of you guys more than any one I can find local.

our hotrod shop is staffed by 17 yos and outsources everything but dynos
