Strange clutch line hook up
I went to go change my clutch slave and the two hoses (the master had been changed before I got the car). I remove the old hose/tubing part and toss it into a box. I go and install the new hose to the hard line, but when I go under the car to connect it I find that it's 3 inches to short to reach the slave.
I took it off and compared it to the old hose. Turns out it is different the hose part is 1 inch shorter and the tube part is 2 inches shorter and bent different. So this is where it got strange. I went inside and checked the part number and it was right. Looking at pictures on some parts sites I noticed that it looked like the hose from a turbo.
Also looking at the pictures I noticed that mine is on backwards. What I mean is there's a hard line going from the master to just behind the oil tube cap. Then the hose/tube part goes from there down to the slave. Which is opposite from all the diagrams I have seen today. The tubing is shaped in such a way that it wouldn't fit even if I flipped it an tried to connect it to the slave like it should be.
Oh Yeah ... my 944 is a 8V 2.7 (1989) and I was wondering if anyone else has a clutch line set up like this? I'm owner number 4 or 5 so who knows what might have changed over the years (wait till I post exhaust pictures tomorrow) but I can't understand why they would redesign the clutch lines.

well the n/a and s2 had a clutch line that was a straight shot down to the slave- the turbo had a line that went along the firewall further and then routed down away from the turbo for reasons of heat. Could be some confusion there.

Here is a picture of where it ends. The flex line connected to this and goes pretty much straight down from here.
