ahhhh.....a loaded question for sure.

Check this very cool thread I started a while back..........it gets REALLY good on post #34 when BBailey comes in and friggin schools a few ignorants. One of the few times I have seen on Rennlist where someone who really knew what the hell they were talking about blasted on those people who just post nonsense for the sake of posting.

NSX's are still slow never seen proof otherwise and my experiance with them that applies to straitline in a significant manor and on a race track. They are horrible to work on and there not very well built and lets talk about expense. The NSX is more expensive to maintain then a Porsche 911 without any doubt. I mean my buddy just had to pay $1,500 for a clutch (not labor just parts) Now, it was an upgraded clutch to handle his moddified car but stock ones are not much cheaper. I just hope you enjoy your purchase because in the end thats all that matters but I would never be caught dead owning a NSX. I do like the way they look and the fact that aryton senna drove one but thats about it.

I know there's a guy out there with a tastefully (and extensively) modded NSX who routinely tracks it in SoCal, I believe. It's got a blower and, with a wide-body kit and a sequential gearbox, could be as close to a JGTC you can get on the street. I'll post the link if I can find it today. The car is still street legal, too. He says he can hang with GT3 cups at track days, and with a smaller SC pulley and 50 less pounds or so, he could run with the last gen Ferrari Challenge cars. I think the 430 would be a different story, haha....

I love 944's, but the NSX is one of my all time favorite cars. Maybe I just love Senna too much, though. But get one before Honda brings out that new, atrocious FE/AWD V-10 NSX, and show the world what a real NSX is.

I like the way they look, just wondered how they perform compared to a 951. stock to stock, mod to mod. What was the last year they made an NSX?

I think in the U.S. it was 2004. But by that time it was bigger, heavier, and it had a targa top. They had upped displacement by 200cc, but I don't know what that brings it up to, 3.2? 3.4?

As we all can relate from experience with 944's, the U.S. version was heavier and more watered down. Lots of people just pull the Acura emblems and replace them with Honda ones, but I haven't heard of any of the hardcore NSX-R's making it to the U.S., apart from U.S. cars modded to NSX-R specs.

What are you referring to? Are you responding to some other post?

ahhh.....well if he read the post I provided the link to he would have read a first hand evaluation from a man who owned and raced both. Basically he said stock to stock the 951 didnt stand a chance against the NSX on a track.
