What will get black stains off the inside of my wheels?
I like to keep my car pretty clean inside and out so I usually take the wheels off every so often and clean the inside of them. Obviously when I first got the car no one had ever done this so there was about an inch of brake dust coating the inside of the wheels that required lots of scrubbing to remove. However, there are still little black spots on the finish of the inner wheel that will not come off. The wheel is nice and clean inside but it looks like a dalmation. I have tried more scrubbing with various chemicals, pressure washing, and even carb cleaner but nothing has an effect on these stains. Does anyone have any magic cleaners that will remove these?

When and if you get the selective oxidation off you need to seal the inside of the wheel. Neutralize whatever you clean them with and use a clearcoat made for wheels. Duplicolor has one that works well. The mill finish aluminum is always prone to this problem unless well sealed or painted. Wax, polymer, or Rejex is great only after it's sealed.
