Default coolant leak woes... rear center of engine

im guessing this is caused by a broken heater control valve. per this site [ http://www.944time.com/porsche/944heatercontrol.php ] you can bypass it as a temp fix, because Im really worried right now since my car is leaking allot of coolant. (well, allot on the first day from the shop, and only a little since then).
where to I need to stick my head to find this heater control valve?

thanks,
-stellar

At least on mine, it is behind the intake, behind the rear of the block and under a bunch of lines and hoses. I had a few bruises and swore alot when replacing mine.

Here is the valve on my '87.

IIRC, the early cars have a different type of valve but it is located in the same area.

hey thanks beerBurner! and bigred so according to the fore mentioned side, I can just disconnect the bottom hose and connect it to the block ( metal screw-tie just above the yellow cap ). awsome, i'll give it a try. course I guess this is gonna be messy, and no doubt I'll have to refill and bleed.

Also cover up the inspection hole in the bell housing to keep radiator fluid off of your clutch. Enough of it there could have you doing a clutch job sooner than you would like!
