Default cig. lighter crapped out

This was interesting....it's always worked to power either the cell phone or the passport....today I jumped in the car and plugged in the cell phone cord...and the clock shut off!

The cord also did not work...although the light in the back of the lighter works...the outlet apparently does not.

I will check the fuse...but based on the clock I am thinking GROUNDS!

How fun!

Just went through this. Check fuse #11. It will get your clock light back on, interior light, etc.

Actually Luis this is weird....The clock comes right back on when I don't press in on the cell phone cord (which appears to not be receiving power)......did not have the time today but I will check #11....I have a feeling that it's either a loose wire or bad ground.

thanks for the advice!

best

Joe

Check the wires in the area of the cigarette lighter. I have blown at least one fuse by accidentally having a ground or something touch the cigarette lighter housing as I'm working with that trim piece off.

+1 on checking the wires. multimeter would help too. If that doesn't help I have a cig lighter you can have.
