Default Dead car..

Now, My 924S motor was dead so I swapped it out for a 1986 944 motor. Now, The car will only start on the first turn after sitting for awhile but when I first started it in my garage it was great and same for driving it home. It has been a week and now the car just does not want to fire and if I keep cranking I get fuel smell. I think its not getting spark but my tool kit is MIA so I cannot check. I personally think its the ref/speed sensors but knowing I installed them correctly and tightened the bolt down I have to think that I just hate the 8v motor. Now, this 1986 motor is also making some rod noise (don't care) but I don't think thats the issue as its turning over. Anyone have any idea? other then the sensors? That I don't want to pull out because they are in the mess at the back of the motor. Also, if its hot it runs fine.

Really, this is just a rant about 8v cars...

I am at school... ;(

Also, I agree with XS boost and thanks for reminding me that the sensors wouldn't fire the injectors if they had problems sensing. I can only tell you from what I smell and have no real knowledge of what is going on. I don't care going to grab the car on the hauler and take it back to my shop at home. So, I guess a possible problem is the rotor/cap. My coil is newish (2 months old) and everything else seems to be inline.. Cap and rotor have been in bad shape for some time so I will take a better look when I got the tools.

Make sure you didn't twist those injector harness connections (under the rubber strain relief) or they won't open.

the rubber boots at the injectors.
The wires are desirous of contact under there.

Yea, those are always going bad on cars I think its just due to the wire insulation getting old and brittle.. I don't have an issue with the injectors I redid all the wiring to them last year.
