Default 968 struts/springs in a 944?

So from search I garnered that the S2 and 968 have different springs and hats from the rest of the late 944 models.
The upper strut mount is the same; is the strut housing the same (especially mounting dimensions)?

I guess I am asking if you had fully assembled struts/springs/upper strut mounts, could you bolt them right into a late 944?

In more detail, given 968 m030 struts, could the springs and upper hats be replaced with 944 m030 parts? It seems like the lower perch would still be different...

Jason has 968 springs on his early 944. I assume then that it also has 968 struts and all the associated parts and hardware that go with it.
