Thinking of painting ... advice?

When I brought mine to Maaco, I decided that tape lines would be my most likely points of failure, so I basically removed as many things as possible to reduce the number of tape lines. It took a couple of days at a casual pace to disassemble and reassemble, although I let the car sit for a month after painting to let it cure before putting it back together.

I did many months of body work to get my 944 up to snuff. It has shattered fiberglass fenders and dam, and a big rust hole in the hood. It took a long time and it totally wasnt worth the effort for a 3000 dollar car, but its a sweet looking 3K car now! We shot all the primer/sealer ourselves and then let a friend at Scheibs shoot the color/clear b/c they had a booth. The car hasnt been color sanded smooth yet. Im waiting for the paint to really harden up, and I may get to that this christmas.

Stay with the original color, it looks silver and that is a great color on a Porsche plus in the car world silver is the color for German cars or so I have been told. Red for Italian cars, green for British but not sure about U.S. it may be blue for the cobra. Staying the original color will look better when you pull the hood open, open doors, or anything else that is not on the outer body.
