Bravo, bravo.

I mean seriously.

I guess some of you guys don't ride so you didn't get DDP's joke. Lets put it this way, for the same year (1986), a Yamaha Vmax does 0 to 60 in about 1.6 seconds and will blow anything off the road short of a 2500hp dragster.

Damn! I was afraid the S2000 might be too compact. And the S2000 was one of my choices for a replacement vehicle when the 944 gets retired. I test drove the Mazdaspeed Miata at a previous Zoom Zoom event and while it was a VERY sweet car with great handling, I felt like I was in a compressor.

Well however deep the BS gets in here, I can say that the S2000 is a pretty nice car. Its unfortunate that its a roadster, b/c it would certainly be better as a coupe with a Lotus Elise like roof. I have driven one, and it was quite friendly, and needless to say there is a huge aftermarket of parts b/c its a Honda.

OK being serious now, its 0 to 60ft in 1.6 secs and 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds.

Yeah I never race anything in my N/A... It's embarrassingly slow. I'm flooring it just to keep up with the minivan in front of me at red lights.

True Story

On a side note S2000 owners in general seem to have a complex. I am not sure what its about but just hop on S2ki.com to find out.

Stock 944 Turbo S was reported to do a 5.5 second 0-60 and a 13.9 second 1/4 mile....so I think your S2000 wouldn't "beat it in every way" as you claim. And this isn't even playing into the 951's strength - 50-80 mph passing power. In 1989 the 951 had the quickest time for that catagory (something like 3 seconds). The S2000 in comparison would be left in the dust - little to no torque after all. I like the S2000's just like I enjoy my NSX but let's keep it real.

is that a 13.9 back in 1985? or a 13.9 in last week in 2007? hehe

s2k's aren't really moddable anyway. until you get a turbo or a centrifugal supercharger or blow nitrous through the system, they're about as fast as you can get from the factory. intake and exhaust modifications barely net u 10hp.

I take on na s2k's any day in my Acura RSX fwd car.....granted i got a blower on mine and am pushing about 300whp heh

We had a guy come out to our club autocross with a built and blown RSX and it was a fast ****. He literally threw the car into the corners and accelerated out. He was really close to the GT3 times until something happened to the blower (belt?) and his times dropped to Boxster territory.

You punched it in third on a wet road on boost and hardcore broke loose? Sounds like the "young punk" was smart enough to keep his distance from the "crazy old man"

As to the poster who couldn't fit in one, that's a good point. It seems that 6'2" is about the upper limit. I'm 5'9" and it fits me perfectly. Also, there is very little trunk space.
I've driven one over 600hp, a couple over 500hp and several 350-450hp S2000s (there are a lot of blown and blown up S2ks in the DC Area) and as long as the axles hold they can fly from a stop to 150 mph. .

As for torque -80% available at 2500 rpm and the gearing is made for it.

At 6'2 210 it fits like a glove.

That said I like my 968 just as much now that I have upgraded several components.
