I though to run E85 on any vehicle not designed to run it from the factory needs their entire fuel system revamped (including replacing a lot of the rubber lines). E85 is more caustic than gasoline and E85 is also more hydro and hygro scopic - absorbs water and humidity faster than gasoline (that's also the reason why normal gasoline pipelines can't transport it...has to be by rail and truck until they are upgraded at billions in expense).

I do understand that E85 has a much higher octane rating (as alcohol does) so it's better for forced induction.

Yes, if you went to E85 you'd be replacing all the rubber in the fuel system. However if it worked, it'd be pretty cheap and easy to switch to E85 and leave the supercharger setup as-is. Half the fuel lines might stand to be replaced anyway. After proof of concept you'd probably want bigger injectors and some custom tuning, but you'd need those either way with an intercooled setup so that cost is always going to be there.

I'd replace all the rubber in the engine bay, put in an AFPR, crank the fuel pressure up to 4.5 bar and see how it runs. If it works, go after the rest of the rubber and start dialing it in.

Water Injection would probably also be great but you'd probably have to put injection ports in each runner.

No, no E85 in CT. I'll be running Mobil premium or any other 93 octane gas around.

When I looked at that manifold over at Dan's house I thought there was some kind of a slot setup to add a baffle in the plenum? Maybe I was thinking of something else but it sure seems like it was there.

Ah well. If you decide not to mess with it maybe I'll buy it and run it on E85.

^^^Oh I'll be messing with it, trust me.

Is anybody in CT looking to do any work? Anybody a machinist and want to tackle converting that manifold for intercooling? I'd pay real monies, not just pizzas. LOL

Wil, Steve (kuhl951) reminded me that there is a slot in the front wall of the manifold, and maybe one in the back(diagonal) wall to locate a manifold divider.

Just because you mentioned Shawn's 968, isn't he running a 8v 2.5/2.7?
