Well, the tires on my car are Fuzion ZRi's, are about three years old, and have around 15,000 miles on them. I went to get my annual inspection today, and failed because the insides of the tires are GONE. The very inside tread portion is smooth, the rest of the tire looks brand new.
The car hasn't been driven very much this year, maybe 3,000 miles or so. The tech that looked at it today said there is too much negative camber, way too much.
Is my thinking wrong, and this is a problem that can develop quickly, or did the last alignment guys screw up?
I took it to Firestone after the inspection to get new tires, the old ones were very unsafe to be on the street with. They inspected the suspension while it was up in the air, and they say they found nothing wrong with any of the components, leading me to believe the last guys messing with it screwed up. Are there any particulars I should have the new alignment shop look for or any components that should be singled out and tested/inspected?

I would bet you have some toe out paired with the camber..and thats what killed your tires. Camber does wear out your tires unevenly, but camber and toe is what REALLY kills your tires. Toe out plus negative camber will kill the inside of the tire.
Your alignment can get knocked out of whack over bumps and should be done every year or every time you put on a new set of tires. It might be a good idea to replace the tie rods (or just the tie rod ends) depending on mileage / wear and replace the camber eccentric nuts and if they are in bad enough shape, the bolts also. The hardware gets tired after so many uses and after a while they will no longer hold alignment.

Cost estimate and leads? 944Online carry them?
Hey, Why don't I look for myself, huh?
Thank you for the info, by the way.

as for your tires, the tires I have (Falken ZE512s) were discontinued recently because it was discovered that the design of the tire lead to massive shoulder wear. Maybe its just the tire?

Just got it back from the shop. The camber was really bad, almost an inch out at the bottom. The toe was also horrible. The left was 51 toe out, the right was 44 toe out.
The right rear was toed in, and the left rear was toed out.
It now feels incredible. No more darting or nervousness, turns alot easier, feels tight and no wallowing when going over bumps. They said all the components look nice, and nothing needs replacing. We'll see how it goes this time.
