I would but its too pricey, I'd rather spend the money on other Porsche parts.

John, do you know the diameter of the torque tube drive-shaft, I was told it was 25mm for the 944. But is it the same for a 1987 Porsche 924s? According to pelican parts it lists the torque tube being compatible with models:

924S (1987-1988)
944S2 (1985-1988)
944/S/S2 (1987-1991) (944/TURBO)
944 (1982-1985)

So my guess is, that it is the same? hmm...

I was about to suggest the super Bearings as well, as it's a PITA job to do, so you might as well do it right the first time

Not the answer, I was looking for

I guess, I'll just take down the 924s torque tube and measure the drive-shaft diameter *sigh* lol

Wow, this is an old post. This was when we were wanting to develop the 924/944/968 TT drive line parts. Funny how time flies.

Mr. 924s,

The 924 drive shaft is 25mm like the 944.

The TT IDs are also the same.

Best regards,

By the way, unless we are looking at the wrong part on their website, the used 944 bearing units from Jaeger are listed for $150.00 each. Once you replace the bearings the price will be more than our Super Bearings which cost $170.00 each.

With the upgrades you get with our Super Bearings over the original units, they are a bargain when compared to the used units.

Just wanted to set the record straight about the cost of our products.

Best regards,

Doing some research on this topic as I do my '78's torque tube.
For posterity, the 2.0 torque tube (at least on my '78 four speed) is 20mm. There are 4 bearings as well as a weighted vibration dampener

Yes, correct.

We made new Super Bearing inserts for the early 924 platforms that have the smaller 20mm drive shafts.

Cheers.
