Default Damaged wheel, think its fixable?

There are a set of Sport Classics for sale locally for a great price. One of the wheels has a crack on the inner lip. I know these two pictures arent great, waiting on better ones. But does this wheel look repairable?

These are not going to be track wheels or anything, just my every day driver wheels.

fixable yes- make sure you have someone who has done wheels before weld it though. I had a wheel fixed by a guy who could weld aluminum and he didnt do it right- cracked again. Then the wheel shop did it right.

Thats what i figured. Thanks. The wheels are the Sport Classic II's, so 18's. Not exactly the most desirable for a n/a but they are great looking wheels. Still waiting to here back from this guy, probably will call him around noon time. They will eventually find way onto the 951.

Ive currently got 4 sets of wheels and tires in the basement, i just sold my set of D90's to a friend yesterday night to downsize a little. I was browsing around (dangerous thing to do with money burning a hole in your pocket) and saw these for sale...dont think i can turn them down at this price! Just need to buy some 18'' tires now.

I was about to buy a Recaro Pole Position last night from Stable Energies..looks like i found something else to spend the money on .

BTW, what are the stock tires sizes for these wheels?

I love sport classic II's.

They are one of the few modern Porsche wheels that look good IMHO, and actually look good on our cars.

Since we are talking wheels, and posting this would be easier than sifting through hundreds of posts a search would bring up...

I'm looking at getting a second set of wheels and tires for autocrossing. The 15" phonies and street tires I want to keep for road miles. Wanting to put the cart before the horse and before I start tire shopping I need to get my rims.

What is the best size rim to get for autocrossing the 944 NA?

Here is a good resource for helping determine what is safe and what is not safe to repair.

I run 15- 20 wheels through this company a year....

i would make your 15" wheels autox wheels and get some 16-17's for the street- look better IMHO. If you have four 15x7's you can run 225/50/15's all around on Kuhmo Victoracers- cant go wrong with those.

1: Fixable- my wife turns her 17" into wads of aluminum and the local shop makes them round again.

You might want to start a new thread on that one... What class? Mods done? Etc?

15x7 Then you get the 23.5x8 and 23.5x9 Goodyear slicks. The really short tire lowers the car about 2 inches and makes the car way faster. With the slicks they stick and you can do whatever you want. Only downside is when the car lets go you do not have much warning and you are at higher speeds so its more of a ride.

I'm so jealous... I LOVE the look of those wheels! -Stumbling across a bargain set is a recurring dream of mine!
