I have to pull the brake line between the solid line that comes off the calliper and the line that goes up into the engine bay. Is there any way I can avoid losing all the fluid? Is there anything that you know of that I can plug up the line with?
TIA

I use some vacuum line rubber caps over the end of the line to keep it from leaking out all over. Can get an assortment pack at most parts/hardware stores. Come in diff colors too!

Or you can try keeping the brake pedal in the down position and holding it there while changing the lines. It just might work!!!

Take a paper towel and tear off a small piece and roll it up like a little plug - stuff it in the line. It will immedeatly soak up and start to drip through the paper towel...but it will just be a slow drip.

yeah it wont drain the system or anything- since the brake pedal is not engaged, no pressure is pushing on the top of the fluid so it'll just stay mostly in the line. PUt a small pan under the line and swap your line then rebleed.

I actually have to take my bad brake line to the mechanic so he can match it up with the same one so I can bring it bacl to reinstall it. It might be out of the car for a few hours or a day or two. when I did it last time i wrapped the end of a wood skewer with teflon tape and jammed it in. At the end of the day all the fluid leaked out of the brake resevior.

Another trick is to put a piece of saran wrap under the brake fluid resevoir cap. No air in means the fluid can't run out. You need a piece big enough to enclose the float under the cap if you have one and just screw the cap down on it. I think it's safer than stuffing something in the line.
