Early odometer parts?

Early odometer parts?
I've heard that the parts for early odometers are no longer available? VDO wouldn't even take mine to repair it for 120 bucks a pop...
Anyone know of any sources for these parts?

I believe I need the plastic gear, I'm not sure until I open it up though.
All I know is that I sent it to VDO during my swap and they 'fixed' it for 700 miles, then it broke again... I called and complained and they said it was because of the lack of parts.

early cars didnt have a gear problem as far as ive ever seen. Usually the pin that holds the odometer gears slides over and the gears come apart.
do a search on early speedometer repair- i did a big writeup a few years ago.
