Actually I think it was closer to 2 years. I was up that way about a year or so ago and it was all boarded up. I was told at that time it was closed for about a year. When the current 17 was completed and it became old 17 or 17A (can someone please explain NY's concept of road designations) it took all the business away. That place was a landmark and a welcome stop for decades and I remember taking trips there as a child in the 60's and have heard the same thing from my in-laws. Kind of like South of the Border when driving south.
