Exclamation Early and late fuel pumps the same?

I am in a REAL tight spot here with Boxstoberfest on Saturday and I have a dead fuel pump. I have a spare in a parts car that *may* be good - will it go into a late car?

The same pump works for 944T and 944 1983-88 and 924S 1987-88---But another pump is used for the 944 in 1988 and 944S/S2 1987-91 as well as 968 1992-95.

Although all the cars in your sig fall in the same range for pumps escept for the S (which has broken belt so Im guessing thats not the car your are referring to..... In a pinch: Even if your parts car pump is from one and your driver is the other, im pretty sure it will work as long as it pushes 35-40+ psi and holds for atleast 10 mins (internal check valve works?) with the engine and ign. off. Should have a FI psi gauge to check leak down but your probably no where near one. Another way is to just let the car run and then shut down ign off, wait 10 and push the shrader core in and see if it spurts (have towel handy and make sure to catch it all). If it spurts pretty good, try and eyeball (keep eyes away) the psi. As far as the I/O fittings, I believe them to be the same....one is a nipple for rubber line and the other questionable one is threaded. But im not 100%.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

The pump on my early car is off an 87 turbo.
