Default New Tranny instaled

... HY ..just wanna share with all of you a sensation that makes u feel good...i`ve put that tranny that i have 4 sale last night whit a friend that has a turbo 944 and works for a tuning firm..it took us 8 agonaizing hours .it is the first time we did this thing ..we did`t with the manual online( volume 2 transmission and it work like a charm..and now for the feeling...IS THAT HOW THEY HAVE TO CHANGE GEARS.??.. deam she is now quick ..quick shiftng..? no problem..very sharp gears ..easy to find....i have to tell u mine had a weak trans...deam it felt good to hear it on the road....and one thing more ..WOW the sound of the exhaust with no mufler.)

Very nice. Glad it's all worked out.

One of these days I'll take care of my transaxle/shifter stuff. For now, putting mine in gear is like stirring soup.

hy i`ve unscrew some bolts on the old tranny i found where the noise was coming.. 2 broken teehts on pinion gear set .thats were the sound was coming..did some pisc ..maybe u wanna see...the new transmission is workin like swiss clocks..flawless

Ouch.

I too can testify to the joy of driving with a replacement tranny that's nice and tight.

Yep, that's the typical mode of failure!

So, what trans did you have for sale? And you put it in your car? What model year was the car that had the shredded pinion gear?

the broken one is from my 84 na 944 ...the new one i had it for over one year in my garage it is made in 1983 and it WAS O (zero) miles.it was one stored gear box thru time.never been on a car.

mine failed at really low speed...got from home to barber get preety..gat in the car started..drove 200 yards an then clunck clunk clunk....bad day..
