I'm the Svc Mgr at Taylors Sport N Import. Working on BMW and Mercedes, and other imports only. We have the only AWD chassis dyno in the area, closest one it in Atlanta. Fun job! And yes, the NTI guys are 98% idiots!!

I miss it though its a beautiful area.

There are three connectors at the back of the instrument cluster, and sometimes they get corroded. Simply removing them and reconnecting them solves weird gauge problems on occasion. The biggest fix for the gauges is cleaning the football shaped ones on the back of the cluster itself.

I cleaned all of my grounds. I also added battery cables to the motor (intake side) and to the frame. Everything, including radio reception and idling improved.

+1 ninefofo - you just proved what i suggested earlier!

And yes marky522 that is where we are at. And I am also ashamed to say that I was also one of those 2%. I had eight years of shop expieience b4 I moved out here to go to what sounds like a great school. I ended up teaching almost half of my classes.... graduated with a ton of awards though....

A few years ago I recall someone going through a couple of DMEs and his problem was really a bad ground.

I actually learned quite a bit about how things worked, i didn't have the shop experience, but did have a lot of backyard experience. I got into PTAP so i am happy.

Picked this as just one of the many threads on grounds that solved my "host of unrelated" issues today after adding one supplemental ground wire between the front driver headlight ground and the engine lift mount bolt. WOW....whole new car. Went from 10.5 loaded to 13.5 Volts. Just wanted everyone to know that this is probably one of the easiest and best things you can do to keep you from going crazy over what you will believe to be mechanical issues, when it is really electrical. Never knew the 944 lights could be so bright, gauge readings steady, radio reception good, and idle smooth.

I'll try this... see if I get the same type of results.

Mind posting of picture of the wire installed?

definitely a good idea, i recently had a bout of bad grounds (of course they were grounds i had made myself). i was having problems with intermittent running/starting and the car would occasionally die, never quite the same thing happened though. i've re-run all of the grounds i made before with a nice thick wire, soldered a bunch into the new main ground, and ran it to the back of the bellhousing where i had run the battery ground...i believe this solved my problem as i have yet to recreate the problem (now i just need a new fuel filter...lol...these things really do come in three's!) The car ran beautifully right after i did the grounds, started up on the first turn of the starter pretty much every time, idled very nicely, sounded better than it ever had before!

Man this may fix alot of small problems I had/have !
How to make the ground point 100% good and 100% rust proff after probly sanding it down ?
Do a -/ground go into the fuse panel or is it only the positive/+ ?

Welcome to the forum. I noticed that your post wasn't getting much attention, and I don't mean to be condescending, but I think you'll probably get more answers if you write more carefully. Use "to" instead of "2" and "for" instead of "4" and you'll appear a lot more respectful to the people you're asking for help.

As for your window speed, the source of the problem could be:
1.) A bad ground
2.) Lack of lubrication on the regulator
3.) The motor getting filled with grit, water, etc and not making good contact
4.) The track being adjusted wrong (normally, the clue that this is the problem is that the window pauses on its way up, or slows down briefly, instead of going at a linear rate)
5.) The switch
