DIY Air Conditioning in Canada

Ok, so for down here in SFl would that kit work for for retrofitting my system? Or will I need to replace my seals etc first?
I had the porsche retrofit bulletin in a pdf a while back but can't find it now. There were some steps in there that I wanted to run by the wiser heads on this board to see what they thought.

Three Wheelin'
I've gotten lots of the R12A Redtek stuff at PartsSource ( the CT competitor here in Ontario) as recently as last summer.
Works perfectly and blows incredibly cold - but for me it lasts ONE day - I have a leak somewhere that I can't find. It will hold a vaccuum for hours - and will blow cold for literally 30 hours - by then it will all have leaked out.
But when it's working - holy crap - is it good!

Usually there is a dirty mark from the oil where the leak is, find that and you will most likely find your leak.

Ha! I live in Manitoba and it has the same climate as Siberia. I have lived several places around the globe and this is the only place where I actually need a Plus 40c to Minus 40C thermometer and last year it bottomed out each way. Yes we need AC in our brief summer, my car is parked from May until October. It did hit Minus 53c a couple year ago, that was a bit parky, I got into my Ford Ranger work truck, it started as it was plugged in to a block heater, I pushed the clutch down and it stayed down, could not move the gear shift, so went back indoors and called my office, no one went to work much that day
