Default Pics of under the intake manifold

I will be putting the top end back together tonight, and the PO's mechanic butchered the previous job when he had the manifold off and I need to see where everything mounts to. I have a box of "bonus parts" like the bracket for the CV and some other stuff that I would like to get back in it's right place.

If you have any pics of a turbo car with the intake manifold off could you post them so I can get this set straight?? Thanks!

Here's a few. Let me know if there's anything specific you need. I take lots of pics (it's the only way I remember how to put everything back together)

I've also got some if you need them. Man it's amazing how much cleaner the thing looks w/o the venturis...

Thanks so far!! Been a big help undoing the PO's crappy mechanics hackings. Have not made a desicion on the Venturis yet, I need to just get the thing running since I have never ever fired it up since I bought it.

In the above pics, there are 2 red vac lines coming off what looks like a coolant temp sensor, I know it's not a temp sensor, but where in the hell do these go?? I never had anything hooked to mine when I tore into it. Thanks!!

If you look for the "official venturi delete thread" I made a couple of months ago, there are a bunch of diagrams and such explaining what the two venturis are (and it makes you question why they were put in there in the first place. They did get rid of them mid-87 I believe).

Here is a vacuum diagram.

Oh, have you had a chance to switch your wheels around? I'd love to see pics of the car with the wheels on the correct ends.

I just put a new seal in the main venturi but I do like the rats nest free look. If I were to delete the venturis would I need to do the check valve? Is there really even a need to put a check valve line in? Either way venturi or not the line goes right from the AOS to the j boot right?

I have been so busy with putting the engine back together I have not had a reason to put it up on the lift. I will have to soon to tighten the rest of the exhaust down so I will swap the wheels then. Expect FULL pics when the car is actualy on the road, cuz I will be driving the wheels off it! THANKS again to everyone for the help!

The venturi delete does not touch the line between the AOS and j-boot, if my memory serves me correctly. That is the metal control line, which does not affect performance at all.

One line connects to the fuel vapor purge system and the other connects to the bottom of the throttle body. Since that pic was taken, I have eliminated both those vac lines since my fuel vapor purge system had been deleted previously. I capped off the nipple on the bottom of the throttle body, and just left the temp sensor with no vac lines connected to it.

Default Head Job almost done!

I wanted to thank everyone for the pics and help with this crazy project. As most of you know the PO's mechanic was obviously not a Pcar mechanic and the engine was a mess. I also painted some things while in there. I was gonna paint the whole cam tower, but in my experience, aluminum breathes to dissapate heat, and if you paint it, it acts as an insulator, so I decided to just touch ups in gold for now.

I had to replace 4 bent valves, reseal the oil cooler, replace p/s lines, replace all the vacuum lines, all the coolant hoses, and I'm sure there is more I am missing... everyone was a huge help!! I have the car set up right now just need to put the cooling fans back in, route all the coolant pipes, and put fluids in it and it should be ready to fire. I must say that I am nervous about starting it. I bought it not running, and have spent probably 40 hours, and $1500 in parts, plus the $1700 I paid for the car, and the time away from the g/f (thank god she understands), and am only aprox 1/2 hour away from starting it sometime tomorrow. Here are the pics I took today, and I did decide to remove the light panel between the tail lights for now. It looks better then I expected!

Oh yeah, I got the right front wheel moved to the back where it belonged... someone noticed in the pics that it was not in the correct spot. And they are 16x8 in front and 16x9 in rear for the ones who asked last week or so.

Have any larger pictures of the wheels with the car sitting on the ground? I'm interested to see how much deeper the 9" wheels' dish looks.
