Rear of car sitting at different height left to right
Hi
I was wondering if I should fool around with the eccentric nuts for the torsion bar. The ride height is lower on the left rear than on the right. I was wondering if this was difficult to do. Any experience would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

I would take a long look under the car to see if something is bent/broke. If everything look OK, you need to measure the height on all four corners. The amount of adjustment in the rear is limited so you might need to reindex/replace your torsion bars if the difference is greater then the adjustment range.

I don't have any experience with this. Before you wrench on stuff be sure the references are right. For example it's all level and tire air is right and are the shocks good. I understand the eccentics will give you 3/4" height adjustment total. Did you check the manual for correct height?

I had the same problem where the rear looked off and passanger side was higher then the other. I agree with all above and if that does not work you may need to have the rear shock settings looked at. I did not do it but I had Callas Rennsport handle it in California and they got it knocked out with no problem by changing the ride settings on the shocks. Nothing was broken or bent so if nothing is wrong then check the ride hight of the rear shocks.

Stupid question, but do both sides still have a "spring" to them? If this issue developed suddenly, it could be a broken torsion bar. That happened in my dad's '74 911...
If not, well, that's probably just as well.

Has you car ever been counterbalanced. I know mine is a little higher on the drivers side(left) than the pass side. A little higher is probably 1/8 inch or so. I have not measured.

Ok now Im worried since I didnt take a real good look underneath for damage. This was a result of a "off road" excursion I had after taking a corner alittle too fast for the conditions the other day. It was a pretty shallow ditch on the side of the road which I was able to drive out of, initially I didnt see any physical damage to the car. Since the alignments off as well now I think I'll take it into the shop tomorrow and hope for the best. Thanks for all the info folks!
