Default Quick strut/spring install question

I was able to get the old springs out without a spring compressor. Will I need one for installation? (220# springs and koni yellows)

It might be easier to use it.

if the springs overshadow the threaded top portion of the damper shaft, when the shaft is fully extended, you will need a spring compressor, unless you have really really strong hangs

and i also woudnt try to "grab a little thread" either, make sure you can put the top hat on with full thread showing.
