I did my own rebuild and it quickly added up to $3500 in parts, including sending the turbo out for a rebuild. No head work, no clutch. You must be be a hell of a bargain hunter.

Yeah, you could say that for sure. I'm all about the lightly used, or resold new stuff from an individual's abandoned project. The new stuff I get for 10-15-maybe 25% off, obviously way better once they've been used a bit.

Before I decided to buy this car, I went into excel and tallied up approximate costs for each of the goodies. It was $6700 for the parts that were ADDED to the car. There's a chance I'll come in at or under that number after I get the car finished up next month. So I knew this car would be worth it for me.

When I bought my car in '02 (Ebay), the PO had recently put a lot into the car, including but not limited to: new clutch, paint, wheels and tires ($8000). It also had a new Momo steering wheel and the PPO had the seats recovered in full leather (nicer than new). Plus a perfect dash. All for $9000. I did the rebuild as preventive maintenance, since old turbos cook up everything under the hood. Not a rip-snorting monster like yours, but a sweet ride none the less!

I looked at your interior last night, fricking amazing! I'm going to have to freshen up my NA, I forgot how good it looks when things are super clean. We'll see what the turbo's interior looks like this weekend.

Some pics my dad took when he went up to look it over last week...

Don't know why the pass side headlight cover is off, but he has it, its in perfect shape. Also not sure why he had the intake tubes off/apart, I'll have to make sure I'm careful that there's no debris floating around in there now.

The drivers/pass seats will be immediately swapped for those Corbeau A4 reclinables I picked up a few weeks back. So those cracks/rips don't bother me much.

Also, that last pic has me pretty set on getting bright yellow belts for the above mentioned seats. Or I guess I could keep them black too.

I'm actually kindof suprised how much the grey paint under the hood doesnt bother me. I can pretend that it was left purposefully for heat shielding or something. The gold strut bar and red plug wires don't match that much though. I might do something about the strut bar, and I'll be deleting the wires when I got to Coil-On-Plug ignition (MSnS-E) in a few months.

I don't know, it looks like it could have been Zermatt Silver.

I'll get the option codes from the tag under the back carpet this weekend.

I need you guys to help me pick my personalized plate for the car. These are the three I like the best so far (all available to be registered in MI right now, nobody take one of these before I choose!)...

Right now I'm leaning toward AREA951, as the other two are a little too redundant. Click one of those pics to see my other ideas. The "eVil" thing is a group I'm part of, not too significant to anyone else.

Impossible. I'm not posting stuff about this car on like 7 different boards right now.

No way you could have seen any of those pics already.

Wow, great weekend. I got to see/feel/smell/sit in the car on Saturday. Met every expectation I had of it, although it will definitely need some work. One of the more positive notes from the weekend was that it turns out the car has a pretty good history. The PO (the guy I bought it from doesn't count, he only drove it 1100 miles!) from Cali dropped some serious cash in the car. I have a pile of receipts totalling ~$9k since he bought it in early 2003. The owner before him lived in AZ, and had all his work done by Chris Cervelli at Powerdyne. He also dropped in the $1500 bill from FRH Int'l for that sweet rolling stock.

For those that have expressed interest: THESE WHEELS ARE NOT FOR SALE. I hinted before that I might be looking for different ones, but if I do, its for track wheels only. I'm hanging onto these puppies, they look sweet!

The tires are friggin huge too. 255 FRONT, 275 rear.

So yeah, $12,229.75 in receipts since 12/26/02 for this car. Wanna hear the kicker? The guy I bought it from paid $14,900 for it just 15 months ago! Drove it from AZ->PA, but it developed the rod knock on the way. Shut the car off when he got home and hasn't started it since. Talk about depreciation! $10k in a little over a year on a 19 year old car.

Another juicy tidbit... with the current powerparts installed, this car was dynoed at 290 rwhp. Thats with a K27/8 7200, APE chips, and 3" mandrel bent turbo-back exhaust. I think everything else is stock. Gotta love that K27/8!

Oh yeah, it has an AIR splitter on the front too. 968 caster blocks. Very light tint on front/mid side windows.

The car goes into the shop first thing tomorrow morning for diagnostics. Hopefully they find a piece of gum on the timing belt and the engine is fixed! Yeah right.

I'm planning to install a crank scraper, maybe a baffled 9R pan (pull it from my non-turbo since none of the would-be buyers would care/pay for it), Raceware head studs, 2pc crossover tube, 38-40 mm Tial WG, aftermarket BOV, and immediate change over to stand alone fuel management (w/ WBO2) too help me sleep at night.

Ok, I can't tease you any more, here are those pics you guys have been DYING to see. I know, I haven't been able to sleep much the past few nights either.
