Default 944 s2 cab VS boxster 2.5

Well,

what say you !

trade in the s2 for a boxster

The Boxster is only 200BHP, where as the s2 is 208
would you really notice 8BHP?

Classic square lines on the 44 I love, hence not too keen on the rouned 68

driveability, Performance, MPG, top down

I know the top down in the S2 is wicked, pretty sure the box is not that fab

ideas???

OR go for a

968 cab
944 turbo cab

The only thing the Boxster has going for it is the cover for the roof (so you dont see it when top is down). Since you've already paid for the S2, you could put a few hundred into a custom cover and would be better off that the 986.

They are both fun cars to drive. Personally I think the 944S2 is a better built car and feels a little pepper compared to a base 2.5ltr boxster. If your itching for more power give a 968 6 speed a drive. I actually almost a bought a 968 Cab in TX but another guy beat me to it before I could get the deposit off to the dealer. They're nice cars. Not a huge improvement over the S2 but more refined. Now if you had money for a boxster S I would go that route all the way!

I like the way the 944 drives better then the Boxter. I think the boxter feels too much like a Go Cart.

We have both a 944S2 cab and a Boxster. Our Boxster happens to be a 2003 so the hp is 20 hp more than the S2 and also substantially more money. Personally the Boxster is more fun to drive. Much more power and much tighter handling. Less shakes and rattles. The top is also great.

The S2 is roomier and as said early much more a classic style. The S2 still gets many looks and comments.

The 968 cab might be the perfect fit but I do get tired of chasing down parts for a limited production car.

We could always use more turbo cabs. I'd go for a 968 cab. If you must have a boxster at least get a S model.

Dude the S2 is a much more rare/cooler car than the Boxster. The only way I would EVER consider changing cars is for an S.

S2! What was it Clarkson said...something like "a Boxster says 'I can't afford to own a 911'". It tries to look like a 911 but it isn't. Why I dislike the looks of the 996 so much. Besides, you see Boxsters everywhere, I've yet to see an S2 in public. S2 is rarer and way cooler. I'm biased, though.

The boxster can look cool, but only with the right treatment. Black, with nice big BBS wheels and 2003+ lights. Maybe some crazy wing or splitter. Women never buy body kits so getting one will set you apart from all them.

Then on the other hand, you have the boxsters that scream "I'm married to a semi-successful businessman". Silver, plain 17" carrera twists covered with brake dust, fried-egg headlights.

The S2 is an underappreciated value. The 986 going to be a status symbol until the leases expire and the price falls under $10K.
