Default I am sick... just picked up #8

Just picked up another 944S 87 model... $1K but needs cam sprocket fixed and the DME / AFM are missing. might need wiring harness... I think my other 944S can afford to give up parts for the cause...

Pictures on the trailer and at the GF house...

The one in the garage overheats and has a perfect interior but the paint and windshield suck....
Sooooo I will pull the DME, cams, DME harness, injectors, fuel rail, DME relays and swap it over. The new S could use some interior help and all the above mentioned parts. It has a freshly resealed bottom end with new water pump and belts. The po couldn't get it to run and had DME cut out problems...

Knowing it needs some work is $1K fair or did I pay too much??
JC

Shoot just did a recount... that would be #9 and thats not counting the two wrecks I took parts off of before scrapping....

Wow! You need a "family" pic with all the cars on the driveway.

LOL... but like any family I doubt I can get them all to face the camera at the same time... (maybe cause a couple don't run right now LOL)

I like the "S" gearing better than the turbo but I worry about the 1st and 2nd gear. Are they hardened on the "S" or just the "Turbo" trans?
I may do some presto change-o and put an "S" in mine... I see them on evilbay all the time...

Sounds like something I'd do. LOL.
1. I think I'd dig into the overheating problem as those are easy to fix. (well, easier anyway)
2. Good find on the S, but I'd try and accumulate the parts off evilbay.
3. There was a mention of the G'friend's house.. but where's the pics of the g'friend????

Question - Why can't anyone, ever, just own ONE of these damn things???

See you know your habit has gotten the best of you when you bring one home with no motor and wheels and you say "thats a keeper" .

Unless it's just the pictures, the new (new to you) car on your trailer looks like it has an almost perfect paint job. Is that true?

If that's the case, then I think you did a really good job. If the title is clean, then you really SHOULD swap out all the parts from the one you have in the garage which overheats.

It's very simple logic.

You buy the cars because you want to save them, and you enjoy the experience you get when you buy another one (I've gone through the same thing in the past with Fieros). But, you have two cars, each of which need help. You can make one really nice one, and have one that needs lots of work.

IMHO, make one awesome car, and sell the other one for parts on eBay.

Otherwise you'll dump TONS of money into both of them, and still have (at least of the two) two sub-par condition vehicles.

By the way, there is a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado Trafeo Deluxe with a 425 cubic inch big block in the local junkyard. The motor is complete, and it's just BEGGING to go into your Oldsmobile Cutlass. It's got "C" heads, a "D" block (which has the forged crank and forged rods).

This is in my 81 Trans Am (well... it will be): 1969 Oldsmobile 455 big block with .030 overbore TRW forged pistons, Joe Mondello 20-22 cam, 2.07:1 intake, 1.72:1 exhuast stainless steel exhaust valves, "C" heads, "K" Toronado intake, and I've fabbed the valve covers to accept the "49-50" Oldsmobile wire looms.
