Default Bent 968 rods

Trying to better understand the factory directive to replace all early "narrow" base 968/928 rods.

Has anyone experienced a failure of a 968 rod? If so, under what conditions?

If this has been previously discussed, pls point me in the direction so to not repeat former threads.

Thank you!!!

Marc

I've never heard of an early rod being the initial point of failure. You might ask over at 968forums.com where most of the 968 guys hang out..

I haven't heard of any bent 968 rods, but try 968forums like Chris said. You'll get an answer in a flash.

Well, the 968 forum is quite fragmented and can be summed up in four lines:
1) rennlist.com 968 forum if you like the sound of crickets
2) 968forums.com if you like the sound of flash
3) 968.net if you like the sound of Sexy Models and Beauty Queens looking for Sugar Daddy!
4) clubstuttgart.net if you like sound technical advice

+1 on club stuttgart, I don't spend too much time there but the people there are gurus. The 968 forum here isn't bad, most of the same people as club stuttgart. It's not exactly as active as the OT forum though.

No offense, but clubstuttgart.net would be considered crickets also. There is hardly any activity on there. The most active US based 968 forum would be 968forums.com it's a pretty active forum especially since the demise on 968.net.
