Default bmw e30 s14 vs 951

I try to make my mind betwen a 1989 e30 with 115k miles beauty, one owner , the 944 turbo s 1988 , 85k miles one owner also, wants to get a car that keep value and that can get the most performance ou of it I drove both love the power muscle of bmw, like the handle of the 951, 951 feel more aero dymanical that bmw, but bmw id way faster than 944, I can any of those for 12k and i have 8k to spend in performance parts, I know bmw can get turbo and the company that sale the parts in uk say 500hp you can get in s14 bmw is that true? how much power you can get out of 951 keeping it still stree legal?

If you are thinking about turbocharging the BMW don't buy it. Leave it for someone who won't bastardize it like that. The 951 is much faster to begin with anyway.

Pardon my ignorance, but are you refering to a 89 M3? If you felt the e30 faster than a turbo S, either that specific S is a total piece of crap or maybe the e30 is modified. But stock vs stock the Turbo S is faster than the e30.

951S destroys M3...probably holds well against the new ones too lol.

You could mod the hell out of either car, but for the same price youd spend on the M3 you could make a trillion-horse motor out of the P-car.

I am thinking that maybe he was test driving a 944S and not a turbo S.

An E30 m3 is not faster than any 951. The fastest e30 m3 has a zero to sixty in 6.5 seconds.

Maybe, the M3 will be noticeably more powerfull than a 944S. However, the M3 will easily out handle any stock 944 variant, but clearly that's not what he is interested in.

Cool - which 0-60 website did you pull that off?

There are faster e30 M3s. They made a 2.5 liter evo III version with 238hp. Considering the substantially lighter weight (400+ lbs) over a 951S, I can see how one could be faster.

I guess the evo III, was 238hp and 2600lbs which gives the advantage to the bmw

I have a friend who just sold his mint USA 89 e30m for $27000 not that that matters, but we to compare the two cars, the 951 was slower off the line, but once the boost hit in second I was gone. He also has a 97 M3 (2door) and I was able to pull past him in 5th while he was in 3rd, this is all stock for stock. 951 will blow the doors off of the e30 series.

Here is the e30m by the way (Red)

And the article that Hemmings Motor News Did on it.
