Default Using Arnnworx tool & engine vibes

First question ...
Just got my Arnnworx belt adjusting tools. I'll be adjust my timing belt either this weekend or next weekend. It'll be the first time I'm trying this and was wondering if there are any tips or tricks for doing this on a 1989 8V N/A.

Second question ...
Also I just started noticing a slight stumble while idling during cold start ups. Dips from 1,000 to like 800 unless I shut the AC then it's 1,000 to like 900. Which seems to go away after it's warmed up. I was wondering if it could be belt related?

I should explain that my belt was installed 3,000 miles ago and has not been adjusted since. When I first got my car it was brought to a shop for a PPI and stood there getting some things done while I purchased it. When it was ready, I was so excited to be finally getting my hands on my first Porsche, I can't remember if the mechanic said I needed to readjust it after 1,000 miles. After seeing some posts on here I realized I need to get it done asap so I ordered a set of the Arnnworx tools.

So could the slight stumble at idle during a cold start be due to a belt needing adjustment? I really don't remember it being like this before. Though it could be the AC intensifying it I guess now that the summers here and I'm using it so often and right away.

the stumbling on start up could be the idle stabilizer valve.its right under the intake manifold.maybe its a little dirty and needs to be cleaned.you should clean it out with some carb cleaner.

Can the valve be reached/cleaned without pulling the intake?

Also I was just thinking, is there anything I need to check out on the belt since I've gone past the mechanics recommended adjustment point.

The mechanic said I should have brought it in after 1,000 but saw somewhere in one of those "up fixin der Porsche" books about adjusting the belts at 2,500 / 15,000 / 30,000. So according to the mechanic I'm 2,000 past adjusting it, but buy those books I'm only 500 past.

Belt should be re-adjusted around 1500 miles after a change. There are many different schools of thought on the belts, but I think the average suggested time frame is:
Belts/rollers changed every 15,000
WP changed every 30,000 miles or every other belt/roller changed.

No, you need to pull the intake to get to the ICV.

Idle should be in the 800 range.

Belts changed every 15,000 miles?! I've never heard that... I've heard of the waterpump being replaced every other belt change and inspected regularly.
