Default Fuel Line Replacement

I will be replacing my fuel lines on my 86 na soon. I want to use the compression fitting on the fuel feed steel tube end so I can use Aeroquip hose (FC332-6) with AN fitting (-6AN female). It appears from past postings that the fuel feed line (steel tube) is metric..10mm OD (.3936"). I've seen Summit Racing offers several makes of compression fittings (AN to Tube) in aluminum from Earl's and Russell. The size of this compression fitting is -6AN male to 3/8"OD tube. 3/8" OD tube is .375" as compared to the 10mm OD tube of .3936". Was wandering if anyone used Earls or Russell's compression fitting for 3/8"OD tube. Summits part # for the Earl fitting is EAR-165006ERL. I beleive as the nut is tighten, the compression sleeve was seal onto the tube and fitting housing. I saw Lindsey Racing's and Pauer compression fittings (both metric size). They seem to cost lots more than what Summit offers. Just not sure if there would be sealing issues with the 3/8"OD fitting on 10mm OD tubing. Any experience out there???

Have you looked at Lindsey or Rennbay fuel lines yet?

The Lindsey fuel line kit looks to be the safer kit to install($140). I'm using he SFR kit($89). The SFR kit is kind of scary to have clamps over your headers. At the minumum, get the lindsey kit that bites in under the pass wheel well lines or replace with factory fuel line upgrade where the crimps are replaced with heavier threaded fittings(expensive $400). I think that is 3 or 4 pieces OEM but it does get messy on install.

I have the lindsey lines and am very happy with them. They are nice and fairly easy to instal.

I thought they required cutting the old metal line in the fender?

+1 on the Lindsey stainless braided lines. I would have used the Rennbay lines but didn't like the blue ( sorry Travis ) yes, you have to cut the hard fuel line in the passenger front wheel well. They give you all the stuff you need, including a small tubing cutter. I also put in their adjustable fuel pressure regulator and gauge.
