there's also a P.O.S. rusty Ford escort parked a few spots down with only about a quarter of the quarter panel.

Now, ya'll go and defend that one. Let's hear it. Are all Ford Escorts P.O.S's????? you decide.

Yeah, dude, there should be Porsche only parking at all places of employment. It's gotta be a constitutional right or something.

I think Mazda ripped off the engine too from Porsche - didn't they have rotaries? - those darn riceburners can't come up with anything original - ya know like variable valve timing (Honda developed it in the mid 80's and had it in production before porsche made their variocam or bmw's vanos)

ford escort are great cars.

They are cheap, good on gas, easy to fix, and go forever.

Not all cars have to be masterpieces w/ racin ghistory to be great.

I'm not saying that don't rust to pieces and cause headaches, but my dad had once growing up and logged 175k miles on it before selling it.

I'm guessing you're an accountant. Nobody else would try and evaluate used cars and what is and is not a POS based on depreciation.

Maybe I say that because we had over 500k combined miles on the 3 vehicles in our driveway at one point. I come from the "drive it till it dies" school- depreciation isn't in my vocabulary.

depreciation as in what i paid minus what i sold it for. then add the other things.

When you sold or junked one of your drive it till it dies cars, if you took the cost of what you paid minus what you got, what do you call that?

I come from the "why buy the cow if the milk is free". "Variety is the spice of life". school

Me = 6'3"

944: I fit very comfortably

RX-7: I dont fit, therefore I'm not interested.

The Wankel rotary engine is a type of internal combustion engine, invented by German engineer Felix Wankel, which uses a rotor instead of reciprocating pistons. This design delivers smooth high-rpm power from a compact, lightweight engine.

Wouldn't that make an RX-7 a KRAUT burner?

I love my rotary powered sand rail...best part is actually using that rarely seen end of a monster tach labeled 10,000...

I try not to park next to any 2 door, them long doors is scary! And never, ever park next to a '70s Camaro/Firebird: long, heavy doors and, uh, frequently piloted by those unconcerned with the well being of their neighbor's sheetmetal...

Sounds like someone needs to get a later model 944/951/968.

Nope, close, but no cigar.

The miata is even more fun than the RX-7.

Never drove an RX-7, but I have to agree that in terms of pure "smiles per mile", the Miata beats my 944.
