+1 for satellite radio. I drive 700-1000 miles a week (not in my 944!) for work and it's a gift from heaven. I like XM, but they both have their pluses.
If you have cruise, make sure it's working. This way you can tuck your knees up a bit and take the stress of your lower back.
I have almost all of a working cruise control system. The only part missing is the little lever where the cable attaches to the gas pedal. If I could get a picture of it I could probably fab up something. My car shipped without it and I bought a complete system... problem is that it was almost complete.
Wow you people sure prepare for these things. I've taken numerous cross country trips and aside from my CDs/iPod I bring nothing.
The longest trip so far in the S2 has been from New Jersey to Colorado Springs and back. No issues and I didn't have to hear the same song twice due to my cool iPod mix!
If the relay doesn't make it in time, just make some jumper wires and write down which terminals to jumper if in a pinch. But a new DME relay is always good to have.
