Talking 16" Phone dials vs 15" fuchs (pics)

I have 3 sets of Porsche rims sitting in storage. I figured Id see what she looked like with a different set of shoes on and I want yalls .02.

FIrst the side by side

You can see the rim diameter difference but its neat to see that the tires are teh same diameter around.

Looks as if the phone dials are just a lil bit wider (on the right)

Ok money shot time...hehe

Before...

After...

I'm a fan of black wheels so I'll probably be painting them black and polishing the lip.

I didn't weigh them but it seems to me that the phone dials are A LOT lighter than the FUchs. The car really moves with a purpose now.

New guy says the car actually looks like a Porsche now.

What say you gents?

You can't really compare width of a wheel rim based on the tire width. Tire widths vary between brands and models and don't represent the width of the wheel. Second, those look like late offset phone dials, which sit too far inwards in your fenders. Also I'm almost positive that those Fuchs are lighter than the 16" PDs.

Fuchs look real good on your car! I'm guessing the 15" tires are a lot heavier

I was under the impression that fuchs were lighter. They both look nice on your car.

Hey, if you're looking to clear some stuff out, I'd be interested in the Fuchs if you decide to sell them... I had them on my 83 about a year ago, and I love the look.

Not quite sure which I like better. But I'm pretty sure Fuchs are lighter.

If the Fuchs felt heavier it is because of the tires. Forged wheels are almost always lighter than cast wheels, and smaller wheels are almost always lighter than larger wheels.

On Zermatt Silver, you have to have black Fuchs. The PDs don't look half bad either.

If you have fuchs, I think you have to have black centers...unless you have a gold car and have gold centers.

Orbix, it's always nice to see a fan of PvP.

Ya know they did look a little funny. Well guess i'll be selling these then. Question, will them sitting in ward hurt anything?

Its alot easier to steer now too (my PS is dead) i agree with the tire comment. I'll try the sewer lids later this week.

sewer lids are late offset just like the Phone dails.

No problems by using those, but you do lose track width. The car is now just like a 924s.
