88 turbo S swaybars are 26.8mm front and I believe 18mm rear.

The 89 turbo sways are 26.8mm front and may be either 16 or 18mm rear depending on the VIN (earlier cars got the 18, later got the 16). I think all of the 88 turbo S rear bars were 18mm, but I am not certain.

I learned this information from rennlist, so there is a post on it back in the archives somewhere that will list the VIN that the changeover ocurred at. .

968 m030 are 30mm front / 19mm rear (3 hole adjustment)

That's what i thought i read too. Darn. I have 30/19s on the turbo and someone is probably buying it, but with the sway bars.

The S2 has the 26.8 from what ive read. i dont want to spend money on stiffer bushings if i plan on putting in a bigger bar.

Default S Changes

So, what size changes were made between the 1988 Turbo (non S) and the later Turbo S models?

88 turbo had something like a 22 front. 89 turbo and S2 (and i believe 968) had the 26.8, 968 with M030 had 30 front.

That is what i learned last week.

i have someone interested in my turbo, but with the 30. i wanted to take that and put it into the S2.

My 88 951 non-s had a 25.5mm front as stock and a 18mm rear. I just recently installed the 968 MO30 bars (30mm and 19mm).

The 1989 944 Turbo S came with 26.8mm front sways and 16mm rear sways but the 1988 Turbo S came with 26.8mm front and 18mm rear.

944 turbo cars came with 25.5mm front and 18mm rear.

Most did, but what Adrial stated above is correct. The early 89Ts still had the 18mm rear bar, up through approx US VIN xxx350 or so, around July-Aug '88 mfg dates, after which they were changed to 16mm.
