Default Vitesse Racing "Wasted Spark"

Does anyone have any experience with Vitesse Racing's Wasted Spark ignition system?

I am considering it to improve emissions and reduce spool up time on my 1986 modified turbo.

He uses it. PM him and I'm sure he can help you out. Or PM Fast951, That's John's (Owner of Vitesse) name here on Rennlist. He's always willing to help out anyone with questions about his products.

I dunno if it will help emissions. But that doesnt matter when your running rich. Yes it does help with spool allot

I tried the search function and could not find any other posts on this subject.

My Jeep with a 5.7L Hemi has two spark plugs per cylinder and the second plug fires on the exhaust stroke to use up any unburned fuel. Apparently, Chrysler had issues with emmissions on the Hemi and the second spark was the solution. As I understand it, this is the same principal as the Vitesse Racing Wasted Spark system. The benefit for spool up would be that burning the unburned fuel during the exhaust stroke would increase exhaust pressure and spool the turbo. My guess is that a side affect would be fewer hydrocarbons in the exhaust (but more CO).

I am curious about hard this is to install and the real life performance from someone who already has it. I know John has an excellent reputation but references never hurt.
