Default 944 S2 Racing Pedals

I'm looking for a recommendation for racing pedals for a 91 944 s2. I have been at several DE's and have been hindered by the uneven stock pedal placement of the brake and accelerator. The fully depressed brake pedal is still at least 1+ inch farther out than the gas. I'm finding it very hard to heel/toe. Looking for some help.

I have autovation, they were recommended by other 'listers. Haven't finished the installation though.

I looked at their website. Are these adjustable? I need to make up difference between brake and gas height. Also, did you opt for the foot rest or heel guard?

No not adjustable - I went with 4 pedals including dead pedal and also the heel guard

Hmm. Some pics of that? How does the cutting board come into play?

It acts as a spacer. An old racers trick was to bolt a wood block to the pedal to get the heights similar. Honestly I think that these cars are really easy to heel toe in already so I dont understand the need for an aftermarket pedal.

I have a set of Vosstech pedals in my car. Works great, after I cut off the throttle pedal "extension" with my dremel tool. (It's the portion that sticks out underneath the brake pedal).

Note: whatever pedal set you get, try to get one without said extension. It is supposed to help aide in the heel and toe downshift, but in reality, it only allows you to push the throttle with your heel in the middle of your heaviest braking time. <-- not a good thing.

To get your pedals more ideally setup for heel/toe downshifting, all you really need is a wider throttle pedal.

I'm in the same boat the the thread originator. I'm a reasonably experienced driver with 15+ schools under my belt in several different cars. I have a set of OMP 1010 pedals waiting for install. I'll space the accelerator up a tad even after adding the pedal pad.

The ease of h/t on these cars depends on the size of the foot and the h/t style. Case in point - I am a true "Heel and toe" shifter, and I can't do it on my S2 with stock pedals. I also have fairly small feet (8.5). The height difference between the brake pedal and the accelerator is just too much for my feet. I let an instructor friend drive the car for a session and he had no problem with heel and toe, even with it being his first time in the car. He has size 11 feet, and does a "ball and edge" style.

YMMV.
