Default Im Changing the Water Temp Switch HELP !

I bought a Water temp switch today to replace. I see where its at, I think. Do I have to remove the intake boot to get to it ? How about losing coolant ? Its at the top so I doubt it. What size socket is it ?

you have to drain down the coolant . and remove the fan assy. disconnect the neg. battery cable and put a plastic bag over the end of the cable so i does not make ground . if i remember right its a 36MM deep socket ?but you have a new one to see what size it is . and yes pull off the intake boot if you need the room .

Well, you don't REALLY have to remove the coolant. You can unscrew the old one and pop it out and pop the other one in and turn a couple threads quick and you only lose a pint or so. It's kind of messy and antifreeze is corrosive, but that's how i do it.

edit:
Are yout alking about the coolant temperature sensor, or the fan coolant temperature switch on the radiator?

For the thermo switch on the radiator - do it from the bottom after you've drained down just a little coolant out of the radiator. I didn't have to remove the fan assembly.

Don't know about the other sensor.
