Now that's what brakes are supposed to look like under a set of wheels...

Anyone know the part numbers for those?

Is the only difference between '86 and '87+ the high offset wheels or is there more in the suspension and drivetrain? Might be hard for me to find a crappy enough 951 to use as parts if I can only get an '86.

I'm not looking to buy parts really. More along the lines of a complete car since I need the entire drivetrain from the torque tube back and the whole front suspension. Thanks though guys.

No they don't, they don't clear the rears or the fronts. The back outside corners of the "petals" strike the outside edge of the caliper face. The same is true for the 16x6/7/8 911#'d Fuchs. They *may* work with some large spacers, but it would shove the wheel out past the fender.

The 951 version of the fuchs are carved out more and have some differences to accomodate the large calipers. I did a long, involved post about this awhile back, I don't have the link but a search will bring it up.

Below is a pic of the backside of a 16X7 911 Fuchs, then a pic of the backside of a 16X7 951 Fuchs. The differences are subtle but enough.

Hey Tifo, I can see the difference in the pics.. I'd take your word for it as you always have valuable info and I'm sure Porsche did it for a reason, but right now my 951 has 15x8 fuchs on it.

The car rolls around with no problem. Nothing is hitting , granted the wheel sticks out a tiny bit past the fender but it fits and the car can drive with it. I'm not saying its ideal or anything but it bolts on and the car can drive on them

If you guys want photo proof I'd be happy to take a close up on the wheel and the 951 brakes

Mike you must have a spacer the rear of your car to use 15 fuchs. This is why the wheel sticks out. Without the spacer (proper offset), the wheel will scrape the turbo caliper. I have tried 911 16x7, 16x8, 15x7, and 15x8. They all scrape.

Sandpaper taped to the inside of the wheel = shaved down caliper.

Does my 951 being late offset space it out far enough to clear or do you mean even late offset needs more spacing? Not that I'll be using the 15" wheels on my turbo.. I just felt the turbo wheels looked better on my n/a until the turbo is done

So the moral is use the proper wheels..
