Default Is it possible to update 944 rear end to 968?

Hi new member here. Is it possible to update 944 rear end to 968? If so so what parts are required and what does it involve. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

their is a fibergass rear bumper that is a direct bolt on. You just need 968 tail lights.

Rear end of the body or rear suspension? They both work...

Is there a place in the US that sells that piece?

the conversion? no. But, after seeing the conversion I bet any fiberglass 968 rear bumper will work.

What do you mean by a direct bolt on? Do you mean no cutting at the body? Where sells such a piece?

Looks good. Do you know what work is involved changing over? Is it a straight bold on or cutting involved? Any pics of it on a car?

I have done a true conversion using all factory parts and a donor wrecked 968 cab as a template for my metal worker. He had the car a month and did a fabulous job. If I lift the carpets you cannot tell its not factory. He even used the rubber coating and then finishing paint before he put the carpets back in. Total cost to me was $3000 but that included spraying the entire car to make sure the paint matched. Best thing I've ever done for the 44 and IMO looks meaner and better than a 968. The round rear end goes perfectly with the round front end. I finished it off with 968 side skirts. I sourced all the parts from the wrecked 968 as to keep it authentic.

If that is out of your budget definitely go for the fiberglass replica the only problem is they can't put the Porsche script on the back. At least that is what I heard. You can go here http://www.944s2.com/ and then go to Galleria. My car is featured in that gallery. Also I have a complete leather interior with 968 door panels and the leather done by Robert Budd from Rennlist. Absolutely stunning work.

I have also added the jager trim pieces in piano black and I will post pics soon. Also Konig Ruf seats, Gemballa finished airbag steering wheel in suede with Gemballa finished shifter.

Backlit gauges are by speedhut with several hours of customization by me.

^^^Is it? This kit was out when I decided to go factory and when I spoke to them they said that there was some cutting involved. The stock 944 light panel even with the lights out of the buckets sticks out to far I believe and has to be trimmed. Its been several years so I don't remember exactly.

Here are some pics for you

Backlit gauges with Jaeger trim rings, I can't tell you how good this looks in person. Looks like a new car.

Here are pics of the car

Custom XM install with Jaeger piano black trim pieces

This pic is very old and since I've had the entire interior redone in black leather with contrasting stitching by Robert Budd. I'll take some new pics soon. But the wheel and shifter are from Gemballa. They were for a 993 TT but I modified them to fit my car. Thank you Ebay

Here is the outside

And because I'm a complete ham here is my custom Forza 2 944 and my other toy. The Crossfire limited

i have seen the installation pics. Their may be some minor trimming but nothing ridiculous. Based on the pics, you can fit these panels better than you can ANYTHING from gt-racing.

That is an unbelievably freakin good deal for the work involved. Including an all over paint job??? Thats like working for food. I wouldn't paint a 944 for that kind of money, let alone do the 968 conversion. Btw, absolutely beautiful car.
