If you know the brand try searching their web site for an adapter. The 944 shifter rod doesn't have any threads at all (it's not even round). A clip is all that holds the shift ****/boot assembly on. Otherwise you may need to find a welder who can modify the shift rod.

The Lindsey stick I have is 16mm in diameter, not threaded. Made it tough to find a **** that would work.

I have an aftermarket non Porsche shifter on my car. They come withe plastic inserts to make them fit multiple vehicles. Not Porsche though, they are all round/threaded. I carved a insert right down the middle but not all the way through, then the straight bar fit easily into the groove I cut. It doesnt wiggle or twist but I can pop it right on and off because its not set into place. Try and get some pics up this weekend if you want.

I bought a momo adapter from performanc products. here is the link http://www.automotion.com/productpag...ign=PP_Froogle . It is listed as a 928 shift **** adapter. It looks like a tuning fork. It slips over the shift lever and viola, you have a round shift lever. It is only about $15..... plus something like $10 shipping.

When i had the shift lever replaced I had the shop circumsize it. The chopped a few inches off the top. with the adapter and a advance auto solid aluminum **** that has a male outside thread that fits a momo shift boot I have a very nice setup, that I can recommend.

also, i put some heavy tape on the shift lever before i put the adaptor on. It dampened some of the vibrations.

Pics would be awesome! I really want this shifter in the 944. Its a titanium **** with an awesome feel that my gf gave me for my last car and I think it would be great in the 944, but it was made for an Integra so its a relatively small diameter. I might just have to fab. my own. Has anyone done this before? Any pics? Thanx for all the help everyone.
